[...] The Las Vegas Sports Consultants Poll, unlike most other preseason polls, did not have Georgia ranked #1. In fact, they weren’t even ranked in the top 5. Florida was the highest ranked SEC team coming in at #5, and Georgia was ranked #7 in the country. When the LVSC were asked why the Bulldogs were ranked so low, they compared this year’s Georgia team to Tennessee’s 2005 squad that finished with a losing record after being ranked really high in a lot of preseason polls. Another SEC surprise in the LVSC poll was South Carolina. The Gamecocks were ranked #14, ahead of Tennessee, LSU, Auburn, and Alabama. [...]
